An extremely scarce original first edition. The name S. Michael Crevequer is in fact a pseudonym used by Miss Kathleen Goodfellow. During the 1916 Easter Rising, a chance meeting with another young woman, Estella Solomons, who was sheltering from snipers' bullets on Mount Street Bridge led to a lifelong friendship. Together Kathleen & Estella enlisted in Cumann na mBán, where they were taught first aid, drilling and signalling by Phyllis Ryan, later to become the wife of President Sean T. O'Kelly.
