This beautiful book amply reflects the art of the stained glass windows--recently restored in a seven-year process--in this 13th-century chapel built by King Louis IX in Paris. Plates brig…ht and clean but some foxing throughout with a p. 39 tear repair. "Cell" design endpapers in ocean blue/white/gray/brown faded towards edges. Inside front gutter showing at top. Red/green/white "muddle" design for boards with red leather six-band quarter spine (gilt lettering and design) and corners. Front/back covers have spots, scrapes, usual shelf wear with chipping along all edges. However, holding together quite well after 140-plus years.
