Dwiggins was an American cartoonist who signed his work Dwig. Dwiggins created a number of comic strips and single-panel cartoons for various American newspapers and newspaper syndicates from 1897 until 1945, including his best-known strip, the long-running School Days. (wiki) The book contains almost 300 panels illustrating the world of a young boy, reminiscent of Twain's Tom and Huck.

Bound in cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Oliver is not like other owls, he likes to read and doesn't do things the way owls should. Eventually he finds his way and becomes the owl he was meant to be EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
