The European coal and steel community (ECSC) is overall seen as the first Milestone for the today known European Union (EU). This community was the first step towards the present European parliament, European commission, and the European court of justice. But there is the question, seen from the present point of view, if the Schuman-Plan was the birth of the European supranational community. Was this contract signed by the six nations out of idealistic goals, without any self-interest reasons to create a peaceful Europe This question is admittedly very hard on the six nations that officially had idealistic reasons when they signed the ECSC Contract. But i will show that this project of a unified Europe was not Jean Monnet¿s only goal as it is stated in some present perspectives. On the next pages i will focus on the reasons why the war opponents Germany, France and the other nations were willing the take on this project together.Quoting Kipping¿s Work on the Schuman-Plan it is not certain if the plan was motivated more by economic or political reasons. Also it is disputed who the plan was developed by. On one side it is believed that all this was pressured by Jean Monnet and France. A different scenario states that the USA Interest was the empowerment of Germany, and that this was the real pressure behind the Schumann-Plan. A third one is a mix between the first two which states that the USA pressured the nations, but never directly intervened.Along with the controversy above, it is still unsure if peace or economic interests were the reasons for the teamwork of the six nations. At the beginning researchers believed that the main reasons were political and indirectly economical. At the beginning Schumann underlined the great security-political importance of the ECSC, as it stands for a unified Europe and reduced the risk of Germany going its own way in an unknown future. On Wednesday Bovine Co, a dairy farmer, visits Slurry Co, agricultural merchants in Warwickshire and agrees to buy 30 tons of 'Nitrogrow' fertiliser (all Fred has in stock), 300 gallons of diesel oil and a ' John D' tractor of which Slurry Co has several in his showroom. Bovine Co agrees to deliver the fertiliser and the tractor the following Friday and Bovine Co agrees to send a road tanker to collect the diesel oil the same day. Slurry Co agrees to give Bovine Co 28 days credit from the date of the sale in respect of the purchase price of all three items. On Thursday, Slurry Co discovers that 20 tons of the fertiliser have been stolen from his premises and it is impossible to obtain further supplies this season. Slurry Co delivers the remaining ten tons, but Bovine Co refuses to accept them. Bovine Co does not send a tanker to collect the diesel oil, which is in a tank containing 1,000 gallons, until two weeks after the date stipulated in the contract. He then finds that the oil has seriously deteriorated and he refuses to accept it.On Friday, Slurry Co puts the tractor on one of his own lorries for delivery to Bovine Co, but on the way the lorry is involved in a serious accident and the tractor is badly damaged.Slurry Co claims that Bovine Co is bound to pay for the oil and the tractor and to pay damages for non-acceptance of the fertiliser.Advise Bovine Co.In order to be able to refute the claims of Slurry Co, it is important to understand with whom the 'Property' of the various goods laid at the time of the various incidents. Property is defined as 'the absolute legal interest in the goods' (Sealy & Hooley, 2005, p. 254) and is indelibly linked to the concept of risk. Under various sections of the Sale of Goods Act, mention is given to 'the risk' passing to the buyer. In this case, 'the risk' is considered to be the chance that the goods may be wholly or partly destroyed or lost by theft. It should be noted that in this context, risk is not attributable to fault or inaction of either of the parties to the contract. In order to provide a clear path through the relevant sections of law, each item in the contract has been dealt with as a separate entity for analysis.

Known as 'third way' is a middle form of socialism and capitalism, e.g. competition socialism, or new concepts of politics and economics, e.g. the free economy or the ordoliberalism. This shows that the 'third way' can focus on economic, political and also cultural aspects, basically a mixture of it all. There are many different definitions for the 'third way' of social democracy. This is on one side because the discussion about that is already happening for a long time and on the other because it is not lead uniformly. The term already appeared in context with the Euro communism or the 'socialism of human countenance' (Alexander Dubcek) of the Prague Spring. But in that case it was always meant to be a middle way between communism and existing socialism. In the seventies of the 20th century the concept of 'tredje vägen', the 'third way' was shaped by Sweden's social democratic party and Olaf Palme (then prime minister of Sweden). However, the concept of today's 'third way' is a middle course between unstrained turbo capitalism of neo-liberal stamping and the welfare state of Keynesian traditional stamping.

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2006 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Region: Russia, grade: 2, The University of Sydney, language: English, abstract: The Khodorkovsky affaire has been a big event in the media and was also criticised heavily at the time. Especially the Russian government moved into the interest of the critics. There were quite early signals that a Khodorkovsky case might develop. On the 2nd of July it started all off when Platon Lebedjew, partner in Yukos, and also the Menatep-Bank manager who was connected to Yukos moved into the spitfire of the state prosecution. At the beginning the case was about irregularities of privatisation process of a mine. That time Khodorkovsky was only invited as witness. But soon after the research process was widened into other areas of the Yukos firm. There were disagreements between the state oil firm Rosneft and Yukos about share packages of a Siberian oil firm. Platon Lebedjew was then on the 28th of July accused of tax fraud. Even at these early stages Khodorkovsky describes the whole actions against Yukos as part of a power struggle between rivalled sections around Putin. Therefore in this essay I am going to evaluate how much the government and Putin were involved in the affair and because of what reasons. Therefore I am going to focus on different theses. Political reasons played an important role right from the beginning of the Yukos case. This became clear when Russian politicians started to comment on the case. At the beginning Wladimir Putin was not willing to interfere with the case: 'In talks with the chairmen of the Russian trade union, and the association federation Arkadij Wolskij, Putin said that he would not care about Yukos and also would not put anyone into prison'. (Russland-Aktuell, 2003) Even after Khodorkovsky was imprisoned, Wladimir Putin kept still and did not interfere. He was asked to take part in a discussion about the Yukos affair where he did not agree to attend. He was against the interference of the government in the prosecutions actions. But there were different members of the government that interfered right at the beginning. Michail Kassjanow was prime minister at the time and pressured the government to release Lebedjew from prison. This proposal was not accepted by the prosecution system as they were against the political interference. The affaire was given a political dimension, which goes further than the juridical discussions.

China has also become internationally very active in recent years, which certainly has attracted attention around the world. But we have to consider that China is still a developing country which is not willing to adapt in all areas of international reforms. Rising global powers, in this case China, have always trigged dramatic side effects or serious changes in the power structure of the world. Certainly imperial ambitions, aggressive expansion and striving for power are known to be the reasons for many wars, hence destruction and chaos. The world will have to cope with big challenges because of Chinas need for new recourses, power and recognition. China already goes international unacceptable ways according to Western powers as it cooperates with countries like Iran. In some ways a confrontation seems to be inevitable, as states like the USA want to keep their hegemonial position in the world as long they got the power on their side. On the other side China's military chairman Hu Jintao guarantees a peaceful rise from which not only the own countries will profit, also the international world around. To answer the question I will focus on Chinas current status, and how political and economical actions will favour or hinder the rise to a global power. Also I will focus on how US interaction may hinder the rise as they see a threat in China. What will happen if the sleeping dragon awakes economically and politically.

At the same time one could say that it is the least developed of all continents. Poor infrastructure and a difficult geographical situation in large parts of the continent (vast deserts, impenetrable primeval forests) complicate intra-African trade. Furthermore, Africäs cultural and ethnical diversity leads to language barriers and conflicts of interests, often resulting in civil wars. These are only some factors making the establishment of Africa-wide organizations really difficult. Therefore, we decided to concentrate on only one African sub-region, which is West Africa. In the following we will thus introduce some important West African financial organizations and afterwards present their most important cooperation project: the creation a West African Monetary Union similar to the Eurozone by the end of 2009. Arab Financial Organizations The Arab region includes 23 North African and Middle Eastern member states. Its population is roughly 325 million people. Most of its member states dispose of developed economies, whereas their main sources of income are derived from oil, gas and other raw material exports. Arab financial organizations mainly engage in two fields of action: the financial aid for Arab member states themselves on the one hand and development aid for non-Arabic African countries on the other hand. Therefore, we¿d like to present one organization for each field of action: First, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa gives financial aid to less developed African areas which might be of economic interest regarding cooperation projects in the future. Second, the Arab Monetary Fund focuses on the development of Arab nations for example by correcting their balances of payments if necessary. Asian Financial Organizations: Asia is the largest and most populated continent in the world. After North America and Europe, the Asian GDP is the 3rd largest, its most accelerating economies being China, India and Japan. However, other Asian countries such as the Philippines, Pakistan or Vietnam for example recently also show very high economical growth rates. To further enforce steady growth within the Asian region, intra-Asian cooperation is very important, whereas financial organizations like the Asian Development Bank are playing a key role. In 2006, the ADB spent 7.5 billion US dollar on cooperation-oriented projects. Since 1990, an average of 5 billion US dollar has been spent annually. Furthermore, the organization consists of 67 member states. Therefore, we think the ADB is the most important organization in this area and like to present it in more detail.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 28 pp. Englisch.

20 pp. Englisch.

16 pp. Englisch.

But i will show that this project of a unified Europe was not Jean Monnet's only goal as it is stated in some present perspectives. On the next pages i will focus on the reasons why the war opponents Germany, France and the other nations were willing the take on this project together.Quoting Kipping's Work on the Schuman-Plan it is not certain if the plan was motivated more by economic or political reasons. Also it is disputed who the plan was developed by. On one side it is believed that all this was pressured by Jean Monnet and France. A different scenario states that the USA Interest was the empowerment of Germany, and that this was the real pressure behind the Schumann-Plan. A third one is a mix between the first two which states that the USA pressured the nations, but never directly intervened. Along with the controversy above, it is still unsure if peace or economic interests were the reasons for the teamwork of the six nations. At the beginning researchers believed that the main reasons were political and indirectly economical. At the beginning Schumann underlined the great security-political importance of the ECSC, as it stands for a unified Europe and reduced the risk of Germany going its own way in an unknown future. The economic interests by the nations developed later according to Kippings. 16 pp. Englisch.

What will happen if the sleeping dragon awakes economically and politically 20 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2007 in the subject Politics - International Politics - General and Theories, grade: 1,2, , language: English, abstract: African Financial Organizations - Africa is the second largest continent of the world. At the same time one could say that it is the least developed of all continents. Poor infrastructure and a difficult geographical situation in large parts of the continent (vast deserts, impenetrable primeval forests) complicate intra-African trade. Furthermore, Africa s cultural and ethnical diversity leads to language barriers and conflicts of interests, often resulting in civil wars. Arab Financial OrganizationsThe Arab region includes 23 North African and Middle Eastern member states. Therefore, we d like to present one organization for each field of action: First, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa gives financial aid to less developed African areas which might be of economic interest regarding cooperation projects in the future. Second, the Arab Monetary Fund focuses on the development of Arab nations for example by correcting their balances of payments if necessary. Asian Financial Organizations:Asia is the largest and most populated continent in the world. Therefore, we think the ADB is the most important organization in this area and like to present it in more detail. 28 pp. Englisch.
