Magazine. Etat : Average Plus. . 3 monthly magazines for 1962 and 5 for 1963, most having the past owner's name (Mr Lupton) to the front cover. Peter Toon, in the Baptist Quarterly, in 1965, says that the Christian's Pathway represented Strict Baptist churches that admitted believers from churches of "like faith and order" or some similar condition, whereas the Gospel Herald represented ones that would admit all baptised believers. It says that of the list of 398 churches in the Christian's Pathway, 208 also appeared in the Gospel Standard, and 52 appeared in the Gospel Herald. The name of Erroll Hulse, a pastor originating from South Africa, and a manager at the Banner of Truth Trust, is mentioned in these 1962 and 1963 magazines; in 1970 he became editor of the Christian's Pathway; the magazine, which had run since 1896, was quickly transformed into Reformation Today, coinciding with many churches becoming known as "Reformed Baptist", the wording "Grace Baptist" also coming into use, initially in relation to the Grace Baptist Assembly (started 1980), an umbrella meeting both for churches with a Strict Baptist background and for other churches of similar beliefs which had either left the Baptist Union or been newly founded.
