One of hundred copies of the collection of Bulgarian translations of sixteen poems by Edgar Allen Poe, among them "The Raven", with five full page illustrations by Sirak Skitnik, and Felix Vallotton's portrait of Poe. Sirak Skitnik [Panaiot Todorov Hristov; 18831943] was a Bulgarian paiter. He studied painting at the private school of Leon Bakst, and became member of "Mir iskusstva" the circle around the Russian art magazine with the same name, the centre of Russian revolutionary and avant-garde art. . Presentation inscription of title page. Cover yellowed, slightly chipped at edges, rubbed. Inside clean. Overall a very good copy.
