A pencil notation indicates that this essay may have been a submission to the Bermondsey Book literary magazine, edited by Frederick Heath and published December 1923 to May 1930, tho we find no record of publication. Henry Woodd Nevinson (1856-1941) was a British campaigning journalist. He was known for his reporting on the Second Boer War, and slavery in Angola in 19041905. In Nancy Cunard's pamphlet Authors Take Sides on the Spanish War, Nevison gave his support to the Spanish Republicans .
