Numerous uncut signatures and no evident pen or pencil marks throughout the ten volumes indicate that these books are likely unread. Minimal shelf wear is evident: very small chip at crown of spine of Volumes 9 and 10 only; minimal edge scrapes on five of the volumes; surface scrape about 1.5" square on the exterior marbled board on front of Vol. 1. Overall remarkably very good, firm, bright and clean condition for a set well over a century old.
