Nevertheless I believe that, in this paper, I can prove and demonstrate that the English progressive form used nowadays is derived diachronically and directly from Old English.I will present authors who support this view as well as others who oppose it. One important story cycle he published in 1856 is called ¿The Piazza Tales¿ and it includes the short novels ¿Bartleby, The Scrivener¿, ¿Billy Budd¿ and ¿Benito Cerone¿.This paper deals with the first one.In the process of my work I will try to present a short overview about the story and give a brief summary. Nevertheless it is assumed that the reader of this paper is already familiar with the text.I will focus on the formula ¿I prefer not tö which Bartleby frequently uses as his only way to communicate with his environment. In a first step I will examine the influence that the usage of this formula has on the lawyer. Furthermore I will present the reactions of the office clerks and of other people to this phrase.The second part of this paper then is devoted to the opinions and interpretations of famous Melville critics who put the weight of their argumentation on very contradictory points. This criticism is essential in order to understand the story. In traditional forms Bartleby is ¿unreadable¿. The text becomes meaningful, framed and structured only by taking account of the according criticism. Of course, there are many and very different ways to criticize the story. I though think that dealing with the famous phrase is the form of interpretation that is closest to the text and therefore the most easily to follow. With all these critical views and opinions, including my own argumentation, I will show that Bartleby never had a chance to survive. His chosen style of living just did not fit into the world back in these days. They are rich in images, metaphors, language and intentions. It is almost impossible to get a comprehensive and finally decisive look upon his work. Especially the 'Trilogy' provides a lot to interpret and to discus from various points of view depending on the specific status quo of a society.This 'Hausarbeit' now is not meant to give yet another attempt to analyse the author¿s intentions from a new angle but to give an overview about what famous and less popular critics have said about O¿Casey¿s 'Trilogy' so far. It¿s also neither a try to picture, as in a historical dictionary, the political events in a chronological order. These surroundings and the setting they provide for the Dublin Plays are of course crucial in order to understand O¿Casey and therefore worth to be mentioned in the context of this essay. More important though are the questions 'WHY' and in a sense 'HOW' the author used the particular social and political actions and influences to create a certain setting for his characters; how they cope or fail with the intrusion of the outside world into their daily live and business. The 'Hausarbeit' is divided into three main parts. The first one deals with Sean O¿Casey and his life as a playwright. The second one gives an insight look into 'Juno and the Paycock' with a special emphasis on the portrayed poverty and death and on how Juno and Boyle are presented. Eventually the third one provides a closer view on how O¿Casey dealt with the 'Easter Rising' of 1916 in his work 'The Plough and the Stars'. It is shown what intentions, ideas and dramatic devices critics believe the author has chosen in order to create a certain result amongst his audience. In many former British colonies the English language was introduced and indoctrinated on the native people as the language of government, police, business and law. Of course, there were other native languages before the appearance of the British and there still remain local dialects and tongues today. Nevertheless through time the sharp lines between local dialects and the language of the government have vanished. This process of development or melting of two languages, that is English and one local language of the old inhabitants of the place is often referred to as Pidginization and Creolization in literature. Pidgins are believed to be the first step of the development from a very simple basic language to a more complex one with native speakers through Creolization in later stages. It is quite difficult to say whether a language that is regarded as a World English today can be seen as being more complicated or as being simpler than Standard British English. In the very first part of this work I will present some ideas and opinions scholars have uttered about the problem of simplification and complexification lately. Since the topic of World Englishes includes Creolization and Creole studies most evidence I will provide will examine whether Creoles in general are more complex or simpler than their respective mother tongue. No one has so far exclusively studied World Englishes comparatively to Standard Englishes in order to make judgements about complexity and simplicity as scholars have done about Creoles. I will provide examples from World Englishes and I am going to try to judge whether certain findings I have made classify that language as being more complex or simpler than Standard British English concerning grammar and syntax. Ziel war es, neben der inhaltlichen Komponente, die SUS mit, für sie zum Teil neuen, Arbeits-Methoden zu konfrontieren. Dies haben die SUS sehr positiv aufgenommen. Hier setzt die heutige Stunde an. Die SUS werden an eine neue Methode des Lesens und Verstehens eines Textes herangeführt, das 'Lerntempo-Duett'. Bekannt ist dies bereits in Ansätzen aus der vorherigen Stunde, ohne das die SUS einen kompletten Durchlauf durch die Methode erfahren konnten, da die Texte zu lang waren. Der komplette Durchlauf mit kürzeren Texten und die Reflektion dieser Methode stehen daher im Vordergrund der heutigen Stunde. Inhaltlich knüpft die Auseinandersetzung mit dem 'USA Patriot Act' an eine Rede von G.Bush an, über die die SUS vor der Klausur letzte Woche gesprochen haben. In den folgenden Stunden soll das Thena 'Terrorism' beendet werden, die neu erlernte Methode aber aufgegriffen und weiter verwendet werden, was Konsequenzen für die Sicherung und Reflektion in der heutigen Stunde hat.

Wichtig ist, so der Lehrplan, dass die SUS lernen, mehrfach kodierte Materialien zu entschlüsseln, indem sie 'die Kodierungskanäle zunächst separat beobachten und dann im Zusammenhang analysieren' und reflektieren. Die heutige Stunde setzt zwischen Entschlüsselung und Reflektion einen produktionsorientierten und kreativen Schwerpunkt, indem die SUS einen Dialog entwerfen. Auch dies wird vom Lehrplan eingefordert: '[Die SUS sollen] zum Bild eine eigene Tonspur entwerfen und das eigene Produkt mit der vollständigen Vorlage vergleichen.' Aufgrund der angesprochenen Kommunikationsproblematik meines Kurses sehe ich den Kern der Stunde auf zwei Ebenen. Zum einen sollen die SUS durch die produktionsorientierte und motivierende Aufgabe in der Kleingruppe zum selbständigen Arbeiten und vor allem zum Sprechen in der Fremdsprache ermutigt werden. Zweitens ist es mir wichtig, dass den SUS klar wird, dass die Fokussierung auf einen Sinneskanal bei dem Verständnis einer Szene helfen kann. Es ist auch interessant nach Vergleich von Original und Produkt den SUS die Frage zu stellen, warum gerade diese Szene aus dem Film entfernt wurde. Hier wäre wünschenswert, dass die SUS zu dem Schluss kommen, dass das Problem der Fremdenfeindlichkeit bereits ausführlich thematisiert wird und daher die Szene redundant wird. Dies stellt aber nur eine optionale Variante dar, da ich den Schwerpunkt der Stunde in der Produkterstellung sehe. Um ein gutes Produkt zu erstellen, wird der Inhalt der Szene vor der kreativen Arbeit bereits durch zweimaliges Sehen der Szene und Besprechung in der Gruppe vorstrukturiert. Hier bestünde die Möglichkeit, die gefundenen Ideen zunächst im Plenum zu sammeln. Ich möchte die selbständige Arbeit der SUS an dieser Stelle aber nur unterbrechen, wenn die Gruppenarbeit bis dahin unproduktiv verlaufen ist. Da die Gruppe aber wenig Erfahrung mit selbständiger Arbeit hat, erscheint es mir notwendig, hier die Möglichkeit für einen Schnitt zu haben, um die folgende Erarbeitungsphase nicht zu gefährden.

Sei es das verschwindend geringe Vorhandensein der Frauen in Entscheidungspositionen von Unternehmen und Politik, sei es das daraus resultierende divergierende allgemeine Lohnniveau oder auch die schlechteren Entwicklungs- und Bildungsmöglichkeiten für Frauen. Erwähnt sei hier nur das bekannte und gerne zitierte 'niederbayrische katholische Arbeitermädchen vom Lande'. Natürlich sind diese Aussagen nicht allgemeingültig und in den letzten Jahrzehnten hat sich die berufliche und gesellschaftliche Stellung der Frau in Deutschland sicherlich verbessert, aber diese Postulate sollen zunächst die Grundlage für die vorliegende Hausarbeit stellen. Von diesen Annahmen ausgehend soll untersucht werden, wie weit die Emanzipation der Frau im Sport fortgeschritten ist. Hierbei soll vor allem die Sportberichterstattung genauer unter die Lupe genommen werden. Selbstverständlich ließe sich ein Ansatz auch über Mitgliedszahlen in Sportvereinen oder über den Anteil weiblicher Funktionäre in Schlüsselpositionen finden, dies soll jedoch zunächst ausgeklammert bleiben, da die vorhandenen Zahlen die oben angeführten Ansichten durchweg bestätigen.Ziel der Arbeit soll es sein, die These zu bestätigen, dass Frauen in der Sportberichterstattung im Allgemeinen durchweg anders als Männer dargestellt werden. Bei ihnen zählen weniger die Leistung als der schöne Schein, weniger Einsatz und Ehrgeiz als Eleganz und Weiblichkeit. Allerdings möchte ich es nicht versäumen im Verlauf der Arbeit auch auf fortschrittliche und objektivere Berichte über Frauen einzugehen, die, zwar noch in der Minderheit, aber doch nicht zu übersehen sind. Als Medium zum Nachweis der Berichterstattung dient bei der vorliegenden Arbeit hauptsächlich die Zeitung. Einerseits rührt dies daher, dass die Aussagen, die schwarz auf weiß auf dem Papier stehen, leichter nachzuprüfen sind, andererseits würde eine Arbeit mit TV-Sendungen und Videoaufzeichnungen den Rahmen dieses Werkes sprengen. Zum dritten wäre eine solche Auseinandersetzung auch nicht unbedingt sinnvoll, da vorhandene Tendenzen in den Tageszeitungen durch die begrenzte Sendezeit im Fernsehen und die notwendige Kommerzialisierung und Dramatisierung zwecks Werbeeinnahmen, vor allem im Privatfernsehen, nur intensiviert werden.

Die Ergebnisse wurden in einer Mappe festgehalten, die die letzte Klassenarbeit des Jahres ersetzt.Den meisten SuS ist die selbständige Auseinandersetzung mit den Inhalten gut gelungen, wenngleich auch zu häufig noch überflüssige Fragen gestellt wurden. Dies weist darauf hin, dass die Lerngruppe mit selbständigem Arbeiten wenig bis keine Erfahrung hat.In Einzelfällen haben sich sonst eher schwächer eingestufte SuS durch gutes und konsequentes Arbeiten hervorgetan.Die unmittelbar letzte Unterrichtseinheit vor der heutigen war ¿Abgabe-Stunde¿. Da drei SuS fehlten, sowie zwei ihre Unterlagen vergessen hatten, ist davon auszugehen, dass diese SuS gleich zu Beginn ihre Mappen abgeben möchten bzw. sich rechtfertigen wollen.Da die meisten SuS dem Stationenlernen durchaus positiv gegenüber standen, ist davon auszugehen, dass die heutige Reflexion mehr positive denn negative Aspekte liefern wird.
