This issue is from 1982 with features on Sonia Delauney, Documenta 7, Leonardo da Vinci, Ulf Linde and much more. Very well-preserved - typical, moderate age-toning, very minor wear to spine, edges. This copy has remained folded horizontally so there is some darkening and creasing at the fold - not affecting legibility or illustrations. Unmarked, clean and crisp. Texts in Swedish, profuse illustrations.

(Publisher:) "Sigrid Hjertén is one of Scandinavia's leading modernist painters. She was also one of Matisse's favourite pupils at the Académie Matisse. Her paintings from the 1910s are influenced both by Paul Cézanne and Henri Matisse but they also have a character that is entirely their own. Motifs are mainly interiors and views from her window as well as figure studies and compositions. To employ an expression that she used herself, her paintings are constructed entirely using 'simplification of line' and the 'contrasts that form the colouristic understanding'. Sigrid Hjertén was active as a painter for three decades".
