Ajouter au panierFirst Edition. Nine small quarto issues (25cm) in original plain card wrappers with pictorial dustjackets fixed at the spine; each issue 32pp (chiefly illustrations). Very mild external soil, but a uniformly fresh, clean set, all issues complete, tightly bound, and retaining their original dustwrappers; Near Fine. Text in Danish. The full run of this uncommon Danish periodical devoted to the social and revolutionary art movements of the 1930's. Each issue was devoted to a single artist or theme (as noted below), with full-page illustrations and a brief critical or biographical essay; Danish artists are well-represented, but the magazine was international in scope and included contemporary work from Europe, the Soviet Union, and the United States. The production is of uncommon quality: the printing is uniformly fine, utilizing very good paper which has not aged or tanned appreciably over the span of nearly a century. A beautifully-preserved run of a seldom-encountered revolutionary arts periodical. Issues include: 1. Aksel Jørgensen; 2. Anton Hansen; 3. Käthe Kollwitz; 4. "U.S.A." (featuring work by William Gropper, Robert Minor, Hugo Gellert, etc); 5. Storm Petersen; 6. "Tegnekunsten i Sovjetunionen" (featuring work of Dmitri Moor, V. Majakowski, El Lissitzky, etc); 7. Anden Samling / Anton Hansen; 8. "Fotomontage" (featuring work of Renée Jacques, John Heartfield, Alexander Rodchenko, etc); 9. George Grosz.
