The present book bears the handwritten inscription ''To Marion. From Isabella F Tudsbery. With best wishes''. [The Thistle foundation was established as a charity in 1944 by Sir Francis & Lady Isabella Tudsbery to provide housing and care for disabled war veterans and their families. The Robin Chapel in Edinburgh was completed in 1953 as a place of interdenominational worship and as a memorial to their only son, Robin (1919-45), who was killed in World War Two].
