"Er verfaßte nationalökonomische, kulturhistorische und historische Schriften, Darstellungen der österreichischen Küstengebiete, die seine Vielseitigkeit zeigen und von denen vor allem seine ?Geschichte der Stadt Triest? bedeutend ist." (ÖBL V, 292f.). - Hier in besonders schönen Bänden, vermutlich vom Autor oder Verleger den Herzögen in Bayern geschenkt. An den Schriftsteller und Redakteur Adolf Neustadt (geb. 1812): "Der Aufsatz über die Bergwerkindustrie ist recht interessant, enthält aber zu viele Zahlen, denen, wie Sie wissen, die Leser zu sehr abhold sind. Vielleicht hat der Herr Verfasser selbst die Güte die diesfällig nöthigen Verändrungen vorzunehmen [.]". - Der Brief Adolf Neustadts nun geht mit der nämlichen Bitte an besagten Verfasser. - Der umtriebige Journalist Löwenthal war Chefredakteur und später Eigentümer der "Österreichischen Zeitung". Über seine journalistischen Arbeiten hinaus trat er auch mit historischen und wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Abhandlungen hervor. - Der nicht minder umtriebige Adolf Neustadt war gleichfalls Redakteur der "Österreichischen Zeitung" und setzte sie, nach Löwenthals (möglicherweise durch seinen Tod bedingtem) Ausscheiden fort und geriet aufgrund seiner die Unionisten vehement unterstützenden Haltung in Opposition zu Gf. Belcredis "Sistierungsministerium", stellte das Erscheinen der Zeitschrift kurzerhand ein und widmete sich fortan seiner schriftstellerischen Tätigkeit bei anderen, meist wirtschaftlichen Blättern. - Beide Briefe auf Briefpapier mit gepr.
