This trading lasted from Elizabethan times up until the middle of the nineteenth century. This copy is from the library of the late Sir Owen Aisher (1900-1993) who was the Chairman of Marley Ltd (1945-1982) and bears an inscription to him on the front paste down. He inherited from his father the ability to read widely, urged on with such aphorisms as 'to read much is to learn much', 'to learn much is to know much' and 'knowledge is power'.
