First Printing -- June 1957" signed in blue ink to blank verso of the front wrap by Isaac Asimov, who here contributes the 14-page story "Each an Explorer." Also includes J.G. Ballard's "Prima Belladonna." The pages moderately age-browned, especially to the edges. There's some vertical creasing to spine, and an additional vertical crease along the spine about 1/16th of an inch into the front wrap. Editor Merril concludes with her essay "This Year's SF / Summation and Honorable Mention." Malpas and Ray Russell and Roger Thorne (writing in "Tiger") made your "best" list of 18, would anyone care to explain how Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Philip K. Dick, Henry Kuttner and C.L. Moore, Murray Leinster, Madeleine L'Engle, and Walter M. Miller, Jr. all "failed to make the cut," rating "honorable mentions," only? 320 pp. mass-market paperback. Reduced from $395.
