Kellogg was a member of the 16 Ct. regiment and this is a special associaion copy owned by a civil war vetern who knew him at the rebel camp. signed by him Mr. Carlton N. Curtain, a member of the 18th Mass regiment and signed by him. I believe he lived in Boston. aside from a bit of love, a nice copy. By the Owner.

US JC OFF Glass 1: This 1865 edition prepared from his daily journal has laid in a black and white photo dated Jan 17, 1932.Written on the photo s backside is: Jan. 17, 1932, R. H. K. died Feb 9, 1932. (With these names) Robert Hale Kellog, Brother of Lucy Hale Kellog Wheeler, and R. H K Author of Life and Death in Rebel Prisons. In the photo the three are posed in front of a house porch. The name on the top of the front free end paper, is Merritt Ives Wheeler. Also laid in is a news clipping with a photo of the design for the Andersonville Monument with a lengthy news story about the monument. Condition. The burgundy cloth shows significant wear especially to the tips and edges. 3/4 slack leather tips and spine. The bottom inch of the spine is loose and laid in with the book. The gilt spine title is readable.
