BOOKS SHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WRAPPED IN PADDING, IN A BOX. Photographs and introduction by Chris Killip; essay by John Berger and Sylvia Grant. 96 pages; 50 b&w plates, most double-page; 9.75 x 12 inches. Text in French. SIGNED BY KILLIP on the title page; no inscription. The French edition of In Flagrante, Killip's second book, published the year after the British with a different cover and far more scarce. The photos present the people of northeast England and the effects on them of "de-industrialisation." Includes a flattened belly band advertising the 1989 Prix International/Henri Cartier-Bresson, an award Killip was the second to receive. Of the original print run of 5000 copies of In Flagrante, 1000 were sent to France to be bound as Vague A L'Ame.
