Book consists of a collection of excerpts of poems, one for each day of the year, with decoratively framed blank pages between the poetry pages on which to write birthdays. Hinges NOT cracked. Binding strong but there are the beginnings of light cracks in a couple of places. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Only one name and birthday written in, on May 24th. Pages otherwise clean and unmarked. 137 pages with poetry + 137 blank pages (only the pages with poems are numbered). No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.

Extremely slight edge wear at spine and a 19th century oval leather label of the Mercantile Library. Contents are clean with a slight separation at front inner hinge, not affecting binding integrity. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There is a handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages and their printed label is affixed to front pastedown. Remains a nice copy.
