Frank Laurence Lucas (28 de diciembre de 1894 - 1 de junio de 1967) fue un erudito clásico inglés, crítico literario, poeta, novelista, dramaturgo, polemista político, miembro del King's College de Cambridge y oficial de inteligencia en Bletchley Park durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Ahora es mejor recordado por su mordaz reseña de 1923 de The Waste Land de T. S. Eliot, y por su libro Style (1955; revisado en 1962), una aclamada guía para reconocer y escribir buena prosa. Su Tragedia en relación con la 'Poética' de Aristóteles (1927, sustancialmente revisada en 1957) fue durante más de cincuenta años una introducción estándar. Su contribución más importante a la erudición fue su obra completa de cuatro volúmenes de ortografía antigua de John Webster (1927), la primera edición completa del dramaturgo jacobino desde la de Hazlitt el Joven (1857), en sí misma una copia inferior de Dyce (1830). Eliot llamó a Lucas "el anotador perfecto", y los estudiosos posteriores de Webster le están en deuda, en particular los editores del nuevo Cambridge Webster (1995-2007).
