Sie will ferner zeigen, daß sich die Geschichte des Jerusalemer Bistums sachgemäß nur verstehen läßt, wenn man die enge Wechselwirkung von Personen, Institutionen und Ereignissen in Preußen und England berücksichtigt. Nur aus der Rückbindüng an Vereine, staatliche Stellen und private Förderer heraus, die die innere wie äußere Entwicklung des Bistums bestimmt haben, kann die Geschichte des Bistums verstanden werden. Die religiösen und traditionsgeschichtlichen Wurzeln des Bistums, seine vertragsrechtlichen Grundlagen und Strukturen wie auch Motive und Selbstverständnis der an der Bistumsgründung beteiligten Personen sind Thema der Arbeit.
