Author's inscription occurs on front paste down. Enclosed are two four page handwritten letters from the author to Julie, date October 9 and 28, 1938 respectively. A… sepia portrait photo (2"x4") of the author. And lastly, a small name card that reads "Mrs. Raymond Clair Nuttall", indicating that she has married and changed her name. She would later author another book entitled The Gift under the name Madeleine Nuttall. Lacking dust jacket. Original yellow cloth cover is lightly rubbed and soiling along extremities. Interior pages are clean throughout. Binding is secure.
