This short biography by Stephen Garnett includes all the known poems of this young Anglo-American who died in a Spitfire plane accident just 6 months before his 20th birthday. He posthumously became famous for one poem 'High 'Flight' because of its pertinance to the heroes who take ' flying machines' to the skies on our behalf.
