Document peu commun signé par Jean-Joseph Marcel, attestant de lavente d'un exemplaire du Dictionnaire Persan intitulé Borhân-Quâtté, imprimé à Calcutta en 1834. Quittance manuscrite signée par Marcel, célèbre typographe qui dirigea l'imprimerie du Caire pendant l'expédition d'Égypte, et devint par la suite directeur de l'imprimerie Impériale puis Royale. Il reconnaît avoir reçu 250 francs pour la ventedu Dictionnaire Persan, 3e édition, destiné àlaBibliothèque du roi. Pièce contresignée par le conservateur Magnin avec quatre lignes autographes certifiant la réception de l'ouvrage (22 août 1839) et par Letronne, directeur de la Bibliothèque royale. Orientaliste et imprimeur, il fait partie des savants de l'Expédition d'Égypte, devient directeur de l'imprimerie nationale au Caire où il recueille des manuscrits et inscriptions qui serviront à la Description de l'Égypte.
