Phytochemical analysis showed the presence of many components with potential bioactivity. The antioxidant potential as revealed by FRAP analysis showed C. medica to have more potential as compared to C. pennivesiculata. Different extracts from these plants showed antibacterial activity against three bacterial strains tested. They were also tested for their anti-fungal activity. Both of them exhibited almost equal activity and showed their potentiality to be exploited as fungicides. This study thus justifies the use of these plants in traditional system of medicine.
