Ajouter au panierSoftcover. Etat : neu. 1. Auflage. Schriftenreihe volkswirtschaftliche Forschungsergebnisse, Band 45 120 pages.

This book challenges the widely held belief that university professors, particularly in the fields of philosophy and theology, are anti-Christian, atheists, or heretics. The author, a prominent scientist, delves into the history of the conflict between science and religion, arguing that the vast majority of university professors are not anti-Christian but rather objective scholars dedicated to the pursuit of truth through free and unfettered inquiry. The book draws on historical examples, such as the case of Giordano Bruno, to illustrate how attempts to suppress free thought have ultimately failed and stifled intellectual progress. Through a meticulous examination of the claims made by critics of academia, the author refutes their arguments and demonstrates that the pursuit of knowledge and the search for truth are not incompatible with religious faith. Instead, the author contends that universities play a crucial role in fostering a deeper understanding of the world and our place within it, ultimately enriching both religious and secular perspectives. This book scrutinizes how Fichte's ideas relate to present-day socialist theories and how his conceptions, if taken to their logical extreme, could lead to a totalitarian state. The book also explores the practical implications of Fichte's theories in the emergence of modern socialist and communist movements, showing how his ideas laid the groundwork for later thinkers. Through a thorough examination of Fichte's philosophy, this book offers valuable insights into the development of socialist thought and the potential dangers of unchecked government power. This book delves into the historical and philosophical dimensions of primary education in Germany, arguing for a distinctively secularized and inclusive conception of the public school and its mission to prepare all children for the challenges of the modern world. The author places recent and contentious debates surrounding religious education within a wider historical context, offering a rich and nuanced account of the complex influences shaping the evolution of German educational policy and its relationship to religion. The book is both theoretically sophisticated and historically grounded, offering insights into the roles of the state, churches, and civil society in shaping educational practices and ideologies. The author draws on a wealth of primary sources to demonstrate how educational reforms have sought to balance the competing demands of religious and secular perspectives, as well as individual and communal interests. Ultimately, the book argues that a genuine commitment to the values of religious freedom and democratic citizenship requires a rethinking of the traditional confessional model of religious education in public schools. He traces the history of religious strife and persecution, from the early Church to his own time, and shows how it has led to countless wars, bloodshed, and human suffering.
