Father Michael Kennett O'Rourke (1943-2010), a Catholic priest for 40+ years, dedicated his life to loving and serving others in the name of Jesus Christ. His deepest desire was to be a window for the Son's light. Father Mike passed away on February 22, 2010 as the result of a tragic accident while serving as pastor at St. Mary Parish in Appleton, Wisconsin. Over 20,000 people expressed their sorrow over losing this beloved shepherd on Father Mike's Caring Bridge site, and his funeral was viewed in 80 countries via satellite. During his ministry, he recognized that Catholics today live in a world that challenges even the most fundamental components of the faith. Susan Littmann was a long time friend of Father Mike O'Rourke. She and her husband served as his co-executors and powers of health at the time of his death. Father Mike opened a 'window for Jesus' for all the lives he touched. Susan felt that it was her obligation to widen that 'window' by carrying on Father Mike's teachings.
