There is some staining to the endpapers due to leeching of the sellotape used to fasten the clear, removable protective film. There is some typical spotting to the endpapers A dustwrapper is not called for. There are forty eight full colour plates by Ernest W. Haslehust. Four of England's most scenic districts are described by leading authors and given a full complement of 12 wonderful colourplates each. A watercolourist best known for his impressive landscapes, Haslehust was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI), Royal Society of British Artists (RBA), Royal West of England Academy (RWA) and Royal British Colonial Society of Artists (RBC), and exhibited regularly at many venues including the Royal Academy in London.
