Inscribed on front endpaper: "For Hugh with every good wish / Merrill Xmas 1940". Faint soil to lower rear cover, with foxing to front endpaper and occasionally thoughout text; Very Good. Dustwrapper, unclipped (priced $5.00), spine-faded, tanned, with foxing, soil to lower rear panel and rear flap fold, inked marks to front flap, and tiny tears and chips to spine ends and extremities; Good.
