Ajouter au panierManuscript comprising five sheets (loose bifolium), each with a cut-out ink and watercolour scene with moveable characters mounted upon hidden paper tabs and metal pins (operated from the foot), with ink text beneath. 30.5 x 18.5cm. Eight figures in total (of nine, with the first Mr Punch lacking, the first scene thus with Judy…and the baby only). There is some scattered soiling including small splash, ink, and rust marks otherwise the manuscript is in good order, the moveable figures still functioning. An uncommon home-made Punch and Judy show in the form of a manuscript moveable toy-book, containing a typically violent account of Mr Punch's abuse of his wife and child (with the deceased Judy appearing as a ghost in the final scene).
