Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. Donia Nachshen (illustrateur). Timur and His Comrades. Written by A Gaidar and translated by Musia Renbourn. Illustrated by Donia Nachshen. Published by Transatlantic Arts Limited. No date is given but I presume 1946. Hardcover. Size: 5 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches. Page number: 87. Red cloth boards with black lettering and a red and black dust jacket. This is a Russian story set in 1929 when the Japanese attacked the Soviet Far Eastern Red Army on The Manchurian Frontier. The heroic deeds of the Victorious Red Army thrilled the whole country; and the children in this story imagine themselves to be in the thick of the action. The book is illustrated with black and white images. Condition of book: Very Good. The boards and pages are very clean, the end papers a little foxed, the pages are un-thumbed and the binding tight. There is a small bit of loss in the middle of the back board and an inked inscription on the front end paper. Condition of dust jacket: Very Good. It is almost complete but torn along the top and bottom edge. Two closed tears have been repaired. The paper has darkened over time and is a little grubby. It is protected by a cover that can easily be removed.
