Paper covering boards edge-worn and stained with an old water stain running along bottom edge of plates, which does not effect any of the images; rear hinge starting. Text is internally very sound.

Remarkable work on Edouard Naville's excavation of the XIth Dynasty temple at Deir el-Bahari, exquisitely illustrated with 31 stunning b/w and color plates. Binding rubbed and sunned along edges. Hinges starting. Previous owner's stamp on inside of front cover. Free front endpaper and title page detached but present. Very minor age-toning along paper margin. Binding in overall poor to fair, interior in good to good+ condition. Note: this copy lacks the color frontispiece and is priced accordingly.

A somewhat edgeworn ex-library set with a bookplate on front pastedown, pocket on rear pastedown and yellow call letter labels at foot of spines (Part III with a chip where label was removed), otherwise an internally clean and very good working copy of this scarce work.
