Paperback. Etat : Good. In this book Patrick Nix talks about the greatest hero of all time. I thought I knew King David's story pretty well. Man, was I in for a surprise I never realized how many lessons David learned from his father, Jesse. After reading this book, you and your son will look at life quite differently. Among other things, your son will have more confidence, courage, and faith to face the future. Why wait? The game clock is ticking. Start reading -Pat Williams, senior vice president of the NBA Orlando Magic What football fan would be happy if all he knew about a football season was this headline: 'Auburn Wins National Championship'? Indeed, fans want the whole story: How it happened, who made it possible, and why things turned out as they did. What about this headline: 'David Defeats Goliath'? Wouldn't it be great to know the back story behind that historic battle? Coach Nix provides the inside story - while uncovering helpful insights into how to become a godly father. -Dave Branon, award-winning sports writer Using frequent sports analogies that dads can easily relate to, Coach Nix offers profound insights into how 21st century fathers can raise their sons to be world changers like the biblical King David. This is a must-read for all dads -Les Steckel, veteran NFL coach and President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes Coach Nix has hit the nail on the head for dads. David, through the example of his dad Jesse, was inspired to become a warrior for the Lord. Their legacy now coaches us to live a life worthy of Jesus Christ standing up and cheering the life we have led for His glory. -Dave Johnson, Olympic Bronze Medalist and Corban University's Director of Athletics No person is free to prosper until he receives the blessing of his father. David was far from a perfect man, but his blessing still was pivotal in the lives of his children. That's why he appears in the linage of our Lord. It is so great to see Coach Nix drive home the indispensable need for a father's blessing. -Bill Glass, President, Bill Glass Champions For Today My verdict? Every man in America should read this book. It's written by a man's man - someone who understands the arena of big-time college sports and coaching today's young men. Simply put, if a Florida Gator recommends a book by an Auburn Tiger Quarterback, you know it must be inspiring -Jay Strack, President, Student Leadership University I believe sports mirrors the Christian life. In this book Patrick Nix succeeds in giving us a coach's perspective on one of the Bible's greatest stories. I know Patrick is passionate about preparing his players to win. So, get ready to be coached up on the fundamentals of faith, family, and finishing strong at home -Roman Gabriel III, Radio Host and President of Sold Out Ministries Using the classic David and Goliath story, Patrick Nix has taken one of the most pressing issues of our time, fatherhood, and created a modern-day masterpiece. In a class of its own, here is a book full of life lessons that no father can afford to miss out on. -Chris Spicer, author of No Perfect Fathers Here I cannot visualize a greater investment of my life than to raise up others with a 'heart for God.' Paperback. Etat : Good. Every teacher can develop the courage to let reflective practices reign in their classrooms. Not So Cookie Cutter Kids chronicles Lisa Noel Babbage's the last year of public school teaching using self reflections as a professional practice by which she identified strategies for coping with twenty-five student characteristics. For teachers, coaches, parents, and school administrators, Not So Cookie Cutter Kids is a hybrid, a new genre that is part academic and part biographical. This academic memoir argues the basis for statistically infused self reflection, when used with in the Teacher's Edition Bundle, to improve student performance and reduce teacher burnout. Praise for Not So Cookie Cutter Kids (Not So Cookie Cutter Kids is) A necessary tool that will measure the effectiveness of your teaching style in the classroom on a daily basis. - Erica Billingslea-Sterling, Veteran Teacher.an intuitive perspective of a passionate teacher who finds a way to impact the lives of not so perfect children who enter classrooms every day giving us a clear lens into the challenges and successes teachers of today face.- Dr. Torri J. Barton-Evans, Founder, Fatherless Generation Foundation, Inc.Lisa Noel Babbage has given us a genuine perspective about her classroom experiences as she translates the importance of 'Self-Reflection' as key for balancing the pushes and pulls of teaching. Jacqueline Candia, PhD (ABD), Board Certified Human Services PractitionerSelf Reflection is the hardest kind of introspection. It causes us to be organically real with ourselves. LaDetra White, Founder of Awesome Life MinistriesExcerpt from the introductionThrough fourteen years in the public school arena, years training adults at the corporate level, my tutoring, coaching, and babysitting, my numerous degrees, continuing education and national level training, not even motherhood fully prepared me to reach every child in my class. Reflection has been the one constant that mimics research-in-action better than any pedagogy lecture I endured in college.Human beings, even small ones, are the most dynamic creatures on earth - to extreme degrees, we are varied and diverse and uniformly consistent. Our existence is the most fascinatingly complex permanence ever experienced. Understanding how two or more people interact is one of the greatest topics of investigation. Educators face that challenge every day. They frequently find themselves between two opposing forces, the students and the administration team, and must negotiate the terms between those forces single-handedly. They are bound by contract or morality to be mother, father, counselor, doctor, teacher, preacher, police, and protector to a group of learners that they, in most cases, have had no previous exposure to, no background knowledge, no.…

Paperback. Etat : Fair. Discover the surprising connection between your skin and gut health with this easy-to-understand guide on natural treatments for eczema and other skin conditions Eczema is the most common skin disorder in the industrialized world, followed closely by psoriasis, rosacea, and acne. While conventional medicine offers no permanent solutions to these conditions, natural health author Shann Nix Jones has discovered a chemical-free method that delivers life-changing results. In the Good Skin Solution, Shann recounts her struggle to heal her son?s eczema and save her husband from a life-threatening MRSA superbug infection. She was shocked to learn that eczema isn?t just a skin condition after all, but an autoimmune disorder. Your skin is simply a map of your gut?and in order to heal your skin, you must start from the inside. Shann reveals the latest scientific research about the ?microbiome,? the vast ecosystem of microorganisms that lives inside our gut. In simple, easy-to-understand language, she explains the gut-skin connection: what health conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne really are; why they?re often accompanied by hay fever, asthma, IBS, and food allergies; and how adopting the kefir-based Good Skin Solution can help treat the symptoms and the underlying causes. If you or anyone you know suffers from an ongoing skin condition, this book could be the lifeline you?ve been waiting for.…

Hardback. Etat : Fair. A girl's quest to find her father leads her to an extended family of magical fighting booksellers who police the mythical Old World of England when it intrudes on the modern world. From the bestselling master of teen fantasy, Garth Nix. In a slightly alternate London in 1983, Susan Arkshaw is looking for her father, a man she has never met. Crime boss Frank Thringley might be able to help her, but Susan doesn't get time to ask Frank any questions before he is turned to dust by the prick of a silver hatpin in the hands of the outrageously attractive Merlin. Merlin is a young left-handed bookseller (one of the fighting ones), who with the right-handed booksellers (the intellectual ones), are an extended family of magical beings who police the mythic and legendary Old World when it intrudes on the modern world, in addition to running several bookshops. Susan's search for her father begins with her mother's possibly misremembered or misspelt surnames, a reading room ticket, and a silver cigarette case engraved with something that might be a coat of arms. Merlin has a quest of his own, to find the Old World entity who used ordinary criminals to kill his mother. As he and his sister, the right-handed bookseller Vivien, tread in the path of a botched or covered-up police investigation from years past, they find this quest strangely overlaps with Susan's. Who or what was her father? Susan, Merlin, and Vivien must find out, as the Old World erupts dangerously into the New. …
