Hard cover, 12mo, in gray-green paper-covered boards printed with green filigree design, by Bradley (unsigned) on heavy laid paper, many pages unopened, fore edges untrimmed, the text highlighted with Bradley's carved "persian-esque" devices printed in red, (1) 61 (5) pp. , First Edition Thus. Colophon states the volume was printed at the Wayside Press, Springfield, Mass. in August, 1907. CONDITION: Very Good. Sunning to spine. The printed spine label is missing, which happened. Very minor wear to spine surface and front joint. There are a few small tears at front hinge, but holding firm. Mild age toning. Some foxing in places to the untrimmed fore-edge. Text is clean. This attractive version of the 12th century poet's thoughts on love continues to find a contemporary audience today. Includes a biography of the author. This is the scarce first edition overseen by the notable Lynn Massachusetts-born typographer and book designer Will H. Bradley, (1868-1962), who's illustration and commercial type designs spanned the Morris-inspired Art Nouveau, Aesthetic and Art Deco and modern styles.
