Brown, Jr., An Early Expedition Photographer" by Bruce T. Erickson, pages 145-156. Probably the only extensive discussion of Brown's professional life as an artist, daguerreotypist and member of the Perry Expedition to Japan. The article discusses the very few original daguerreotypes taken by Brown during the Expedition which are confirmed to still be in existence. An excellent resource with much little information on Eliphalet M. Brown and his work. The article is illustrated with 8 black and white text illustrations ~ Condition. The book is in Very Good condition with corners lightly bumped and scrapes along the bottom and top edges. Internally in Fine condition.
