Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very Good. 1st Edition. This book was an addition to a series started by John R. Commons, who has been called the founder of labor economics in America. Commons was a mentor of Selig Perlman, Philip Taft was a student of Selig Perlman. The initial series did not closely examine labor movements, so the authors focused this fourth volume on that topic. Based on historical research, it outlines the formation (1896-1910), the influence of proto-fascism and revolutionism, the effects of WWI, and post-war militancy on labor movements in the United States. A hardcover book in red cloth with gold lettering, this first edition was acquired by another professor of economics and treated gently ever since. The cover shows a few superficial scuffs. The name of the first owner is neatly inscribed on the flyleaf. It is otherwise in pristine condition: the spine, cover pages, hinges and joints are strong, free of damage or signs of wear.
