Banded together as Medisch Contact, an underground resistance organisation, these gallant professionals cared for their patients working in incredible conditions without adequate supplies, during air attacks, in overcrowded wards, in darkness, and once head-down in a tunnel -- while at the same time sabotaging the enemy in subtle & ingenious ways. Here are tales of tests cleverly manipulated to give false results, of prisoners spirited out of German hospitals, an audacious circumvention of the compulsory "Chamber of Doctors" set up by the Nazis. Henry Rynders, a surgeon, was also part of another Resistance group, the Army of the Interior, under the command of Prince Bernhard, and had daring. secret, highly dangerous adventures.
