La page de titre principale est datée de 1648 et l'intermédiaire de 1647 mais il s'agit bien de la première édition, achevée d'imprimer la première fois le 14 novembre 1647. L'auteur, Philippe Codurc (ca.1580-1660) est un pasteur protestant converti au catholicisme en 1645 et hébraïsant. C'est dans la foulée de sa conversion qu'il publie ces traductions. Ce qui est probablement le plus intéressant, ce sont ses commentaires sur le livre de Job, qui couvrent ici les pages 103 à 264 de la seconde partie, et notamment la partie sur le rêve d'Eliphas, p.205 à 208, sur l'autorité de l'Eglise catholique et donc l'erreur des hérétiques. Ces commentaires seront aussi repris et développés dans l'édition latine traduite de l'hébreux en 1651 (Paris, Pierre Variquet). Provenance : (André-)Joseph Tuillier, prêtre à Vienne (Isère) dans les années 1770 avec son ex-libris manuscrit sur le titre (« ex-libris Josephi Tuillier canonici Vienne ») et vraisemblablement ses armes sur les plats. On trouve en effet une famille Tullier (et non Tuillier), originaire d'Ile-de-France et Berry, portant ces armes. Plein vélin à rabats d'époque, aux armes apposées postérieurement, coutures apparentes. Vélin un peu taché, quelques rousseurs. Peu commun.
