The spine, a little rubbed on front edge, is strong, square and well cased; Seven raised bands decorated in gilt with gilt filigrees in between; the second section down has lost the red leather label. Marbled text block edges set flat and true. Internally marbled endpapers; the front gutter broken the reverse of the front one bearing a note from past bookseller (this fine clean copy 18/-)! Next two blank pages foxed, followed by complete but darkened (pickwickian) frontis. Offsetting to title page. All the remaining pages clean though lightly browned at edges.
