Christus Präfekt (Statthalter) des römischen Kaisers Tiberius in der Provinz Judäa. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch die Passionsgeschichte im Neuen Testament der Bibel. Dort wird berichtet, dass er Jesus von Nazaret zum Tod am Kreuz verurteilte.- Kräftiger Abzug.

Kajaphas (auch Kaiphas) war ein Jerusalemer Hohepriester, der in der Zeit von 18 bis 36 christlicher Zeitrechnung amtierte. Er wurde berühmt durch seine Darstellung in den christlichen Evangelien, die ihn als eine maßgeblich an der Verurteilung des Jesus von Nazaret beteiligte Person zeichnen. Die Darstellung des Kajaphas im Neuen Testament hat in der Geschichte des Christentums erheblich zur Verfestigung antijüdischer Ressentiments beigetragen.
