Etat : Fair. 1886. No Edition Remarks. 206 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth. Newspaper clipping stuck to rear pastedown and endpaper. Pages are lightly tanned and foxed throughout. Cracking to gutters of a few pages with exposed binding. Occasional thumb-marking present. Cracking to hinges with exposed binding, causing boards to be slightly loose. Binding is shaky. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Moderate tanning to spine and edges.

Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. First Edition. With coloured frontis by Keulemans. original blue cloth, covers little rubbed at edges. pp206.

Hardcover. Etat : Good. 1st Edition. In good condition for its age, black boards with gilt lettering to the spine have some edge wear and scuffs to the rear but are consistent with its age. Despite lacking its FEP and frontispiece and having only half of the map present, the book has notes by D Leslie of Appleton - ornithologist and taxidermist who is referred to in the text - a fascinating copy!

Hard. Etat : Good. 'The Birds of Cumberland Critically Studied, including some notes on the Birds of Westmorland.' Dark blue boards clean with light wear, gilt lettering to spine, fep missing, ink inscription to head of initial page, colour frontispiece with tissue guard of the Dotterel bird, folded colour map in very good condition, text clean and unmarked, internal hinge cracked at rep, pp secure in binding.
