Brief answers to questions put to the writer in the long course of his office as chief custodian of one of the most notable of Romanesque cathedrals. Tissue guard to frontis is foxed; inscription on front endpaper.

No date but looks 1910s. Susbscribers edition note bound in to preliminary pages. Clean dark green-blackish hardback binding and gilt-coloured titles and coachlines and blind embossing to spine. Moderate wear to boards' corners and spine-ends, one inch splits to top of spine (both sides) and rubbing to spine-junctions. Page-edges have faded marbling, ink birthday message from an uncle to a nephew to flyleaf, and to back of the same page is an ink name and address (of uncle), light browning to both sets of endpapers, pencil annotations to some pages o/w pages clean and tidy.
