First edition, with 1884 on title page and 1883 on copyright page. 12mo. in three quarter polished dark brown morocco over marbled paper covered boards, hubbed spine with leather spine labels lettered in gilt, matching marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. 241 pp. A tight example with all gilt bright, some light rubbing to the leather, interior bright and clean. Monsignor Preston was the U.S. Domestic Prelate to Pope Leo XIII.
