Er studierte Medizin und arbeitete von 1900 bis 1909 an der psychiatrischen Klinik der Universität Zürich (Burghölzli). 1905 bis 1913 war er Dozent an der Universität Zürich, 1933 bis 1942 Titularprofessor an der ETH und 1943 Ordentlicher Professor für Psychologie in Basel. Jung gehört mit Sigmund Freud und Alfred Adler zu den drei Wegbereitern der modernen Tiefenpsychologie. Er entwickelte nach der Trennung von Sigmund Freud (1913) die eigene Schule der Analytischen Psychologie. C. G. Jung starb am 6. Juni 1961 in Küsnacht. -- Alfred Ernest Jones (* 1. Januar 1879 in Rhosfelyn, heute Gowerton/Glamorgan, Wales; 11. Februar 1958 in London) war ein britischer Mediziner, Psychoanalytiker und Freud-Biograf.
