Tight and straight, with fading and wear to paper, small stains to upper front board, paper cracking over joints, but firm: Very Good. First edition of the most important work by this German idealist philosopher, often grouped with J. G. Fichte and G. W. F. Hegel. In this book Schelling works within a Kantian framework to establish an account of the origins of the world (i.e., nature), God, and the human self. Though Schelling's reputation has varied over time, he was influential for a number of major philosophers and thinkers; System of Transcendental Idealism is particularly known for its influence on Samuel Taylor Coleridge. No English translation was published until 1978. [63857].
