White dust jacket soiled and stained with chips at edges, top corner of front flap is price-clipped; front panel with b/w illustrations of two young men in foreground tying to elude Indians on horseback in far background; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Maroon cloth with black lettering upon spine and front board with latter additionally decorated with black stamped oval illustration of native American at center; slight scuffing at spine ends with short tear at head, light mottling to front board with three small patches of paper peeled from dj's verso at front board's lower right. Some foxing and toning to edges and endpapers; swath of green marker at top edge fractionally penetrating top margins of a few rear leaves. Interior pages are otherwise clean. Else a very good- copy in a good dust jacket. "September 1912" specified on copyright page only and without any date upon title page but with list of 29 Schultz titles on dust jacket's front flap which includes "The White Buffalo Robe" which was first published in 1936 (but not "Stained Gold" which was first published in 1937) thus presenting the former as the likely publishing year.
