Blue-green cloth, spine titled in gilt. Very good copy in price-clipped dust-wrapper. ".[the author] tells the story of fifty years of active and profitable fishing, not only in Scottish rivers and lochs, but in South County rivers and lakes as well. As he puts it in his opening chapter, his purpose is to set out his simplified techniques, devoid of all frills, which he knows from personal experience will kill fish both by fly fishing and spinning. He feels that the busy man today wants to know the basic points for success so that he may fish with confidence, secure in the knowledge that he is not wasting precious time by using unsuitable methods. Many people today have neither the time for theory nor the opportunity for experiment and the necessity for making the most of the limited fishing occasions is paramount for most of us. Here then is everything that an angler must know whether he is to fish for trout or salmon with fly or minnow or prawn." .
