The author had served as a general de brigade and aide-de-camp to Napoleon during the campaign, offers a unique and insightful perspective from within the ranks of the French Grande Armée. Beautifully bound in full black leather centrally stamped in gilt depicting coat-of-arms of a bird and crown, board edges decoratively ruled and stamped in gilt and blind, raised bands with compartments lettered and stamped in gilt, top edge gilt, original stiff pictorial wrappers bound in, marbled endpapers.
