Around 1982, founders who were researching material for a biography of Mr. & Mrs. T. G. Hendrick, founders of Hendrick Home for Children, were worried that the recipes for all the great meals might be 'lost'. That's when Betty Kay Seibt offered to collect the recipes that were mostly developed by the cook, Margaret Turnerhill. According to the residents, her cooking was beloved.
