Clean, solid hardcover bound in two-toned full cloth with unmarked interior and text. The dust jacket remains unclipped ($7.95) and presents well under fresh archival mylar despite chipping to the spine ends and mild rubbing along the folds. NOT ex-lib. A clean, solid, well-preserved copy in jacket of this notable edition containing forty full page illustrations by Rockwell Kent; the text is the Cambridge with the Temple Notes, also complete indexes, a glossary of words and phrases, and a compact synopsis of each play. xviii, 1527pp. This book is over-sized and quite heavy, so it will likely require additional shipping charges on all priority and international orders.

Blue cloth boards with ivory paper spine labels. Bevelled edges, gilt upper text edge. Frontis plates in both volumes, full-pg plates throughout. Condition is VERY GOOD ; lacks the original and usually damaged slipcase. Covers have wear and rubbing, corners but not spine ends bumped, minimal shelf wear. Vol. 2 has some pale water discoloration to the front board, also to the front endpapers and half title pg, next pg, and then mildly to the margins only of the frontis. The discoloration to the board is a paler blue, rather than dark areas. The spines of both volumes are the darker, original blue. Spine labels have some edge wear and fading. Both bindings tight. Vol. 2 has a mild central ripple to the pages, and some mild foxing to the margins of the plates, also a water spot on the lower corner on about half the pgs (see photo). Very good minus condition: spines toned to tan; the fading effects the leather on the boards too; a little dark staining to spine tails; edge wear, including some mouse nibbling; straight; the paper over the hinges is cracked but the hinges are holding well; pages excellent. Noted flaws to the slipcase notwithstanding, a very handsome set. Light toning to vellum labels, bookplate of noted Kent collector Eliot Stanley at front pastedowns (printed by Anthoennsen Press), touch of toning at endpages (as typical), else tight, bright and unmarred. Slipcase shows light/moderate shelf/edge wear, wear at fore-edge, most seams split, all seams reinforced with Japanese hinge paper at inside, several small bits of tape at upper seams, moisture spotting at top and onlay, else clean. Blue beveled cloth boards, vellum spine labels, gilt lettering and decorative elements, frontispiece(s), teg. 4to. 1527pp. Illus. (b/w plates).
