"Comrades" Boys Penny Dreadful 1893/4. the first 49 issues followed by 12 part issues for 1894. From February 17th to May 5th and these issues numbered Nos 13 to 24. **The complete 1893 issues (49 of 50) are NOT dated and just have their issue numbers on the front. Some are quite worn with old professional repairs, one (No 7) has the cover missing, several early ones have loose pages and the later 1894 ones have old but professional repairs to about half. The majority are still very good and are loose as issued, but stab holes noted at the right hand edges so probably bound once upon a time? These also are sold with the 8 page "Supplement" sections issued with each part. And all but 3 having a separate full page and headed title page (not lost, just not printed with one). And. No one seems to have mentioned anything about supplement parts in the details I have found? Overall condition is about good to Good+. I can send further details by e-mail to anyone wanting more details on the magazines. The latter issues have a "Boy Detective" series, contributors are a lot of fictitious authors or anonymous. One writer "Ralph Rollington" pseudonym of John Allington creator of Jack Harkaway (and was also Marjory Allingham's uncle ), others like Vane St John + Leon Lewis + Charlton + Brenchley Beaumont + J. E. Arnold + Huntly Deveron + Charles Stevens all have name serials. The woodcuts are inspired and besides the title pages have other half-page illustrations and small woodcuts throughout. More details can be sent to any enquirer as can mor phot scans (only 5 allowed here).
